Moxie Fab Tag Challenge? Yes, Please!

I have this attraction to tags. I'm not sure what it is. But I LOVE them.
And so, I make them.

Maybe they remind me of gift giving, or receiving. Maybe they are a simple way to tell someone how special they are.

When Moxie Fab World had a gift tag challenge, I was all in! I just needed to find the time to create. (This month can get really hectic with flower and vegetable garden planting and end of the school year festivities.)

But, I found the time and you can too!
Just hurry! You have until June 3 at midnight.

Thanks for looking!

May 2013 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Yay! It's that time again for the chance to see all the creative things everyone can come up with using Papertrey Ink (and other crafting)products, a challenge, and their own imagination.
This month the challenge was to use some Papertrey Ink floral stamps, dies, etc (there are so many lovely ones) and a color scheme to come up with your own one of a kind creation. I chose the yellow color scheme although I like them all.

Here's what I came up with. My card included more paper piecing because I am
still in love with the technique that Melissa Phillips featured on this week's Make It Monday.
If you haven't seen it, go here:

I made the flower with paper punches using a technique similar to the how-to I wrote about here:

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #117: Paper Piecing

This weeks PTI Make It Monday featured a tutorial from another one of my favorite designers... Melissa Phillips http://lilybeanpaperie.typepad.com OH MY! Her blog is beautiful!

I watched her video and was immediately inspired. She showed us how to take stamps, stamp them on various papers, cut out and piece them together. It took me a little while to get it together this week but this is what I came up with. This technique reminds me of a lovely quilt.
AND I got to use the wonderful new Pedal Pusher stamps!

I decided to keep the card going. Kind of like riding on a path.
I never get tired of the PTI Banners.

This card is going to friends from our church who are moving. We are going to really miss them, but the road they are taking is where they are supposed to be...

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #116: Adding Texture to Stamps

Hello everyone! This week's PTI Make It Monday featured Betsy Veldman showing us how to add texture to our stamping. Betsy comes up with the most beautiful and unique ideas. I adore her creations  and I LOVE texture.
This challenge, for me, however, was a little daunting. I felt like I just didn't get the technique down as well as I would have liked... But, I guess "practice will make perfect" and I don't think it is supposed to be "perfect":-)...hopefully!
Betsy showed us how to take a solid stamp, ink it, "swipe it", (using the teeth of a comb to give the result some texture) and then stamp it on paper. When I tried it, I thought the result reminded me of Mexican tile.

So I decided to make 3 more "tiles"
to form a pattern.

“The details that are my life's special pattern, like how in handwoven rugs what really makes them unique are the tiny flaws in the stitching, little gaps and jumps and stutters that can never be reproduced.”

It's Tea(Tin) Time

I love the rain we've been having. I think my little birdies like it too. Not only does it give me an excuse to bird watch and drink tea, but it is making everything bloom!
I say all this to tell you the idea I had this week for the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #115 challenge...
Heather Nichols Challenged us to use impression plates on something else besides paper to create our own one of a kind project.
So...
 I die cut aluminum foil
using the PTI Matt Stack #3 die.
Then I cut more foil using the PTI Friendship Jar Die
but just kept the lid. (I'll save the jar for another project)
(FYI-  On all die cuts, I adhered cardstock to the back of the foil to give it more weight)
After I embossed and inked my Matt # 3 die cut, I cut off the bottom...

to come up with this...

So now I hope you see how the rain and tea idea collided with the MIM embossed foil which led me to making a tea tin.
Go make something for yourself and look at all the unique ideas:

I have never participated in a Moxie Fab challenge until I saw this Tuesday Trigger...
So pink. And floral. And delicious. Just lovely. I could not resist.
