Papertrey Ink November 2013 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Papertrey Ink November 2013 Blog Hop!
The Challenge:
There are lots of fun and creative blogs to hop to today, so let me show you (through mostly photos) what I did!

I took these PTI dies

 to  make this.

I added this house die

to make the front of my house…
which you may be able to tell, is a church.
I adhered this to the front of the house template we downloaded from PTI.
Then I added some texture and holiday decor,

to make a little Christmas church.

Here's a little closer look. I may have gotten a tad carried away with the glitter.

There's a birthday party going on at the back of the church.

Here's one side of the church. The other side looks just like this one.
What's a Christmas church without a little candlelight (or battery operated tea light).  The window is covered with vellum that I stamped and embossed.

If you go around to the back, you can pretend you're at a live nativity.
Maybe have a little coffee or hot chocolate...

"In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men". -John 1:4

Now, I can't wait to see what you all have made! I am always challenged by all the creativity out there.
Thanks for stopping by and all the wonderful comments you give me!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #141: Adding Glitter with Heat and Stick Embossing Powder

Hi everyone! I'm popping in to share what I did for this week's Papertrey Ink MIM. I've been fighting a cold all week and trying to organize things (and my mind) to get ready for Thanksgiving…which is next week. Yikes.
Just like some other crafters, I did not have any heat and stick embossing powder so I added glitter to the embossing powder that I did have. I hope you can see the shimmer in the photos. I glittered the blue stars and the blue inked wreath behind the word, Joy. I also glittered the background snowflakes.  I am "ok" with my results. Some of you did some fabulous things and had wonderful results! Heather Nichols made an adorable snow globe card using this technique.

You can see that card and technique here:
Just remember:
"She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten."

Thanks for stopping by and your encouraging comments!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #140: Ink Pad Designs

A long time friend of mine just lost her mother in law to cancer. Although my friend and her family are comforted by the fact that she is no longer suffering, they are missing her greatly. This mother was such an encouraging person. She loved her whole family immensely. You could never tell who was the son by blood or the daughter by marriage.

At times like these all you can do is offer a hug and pray…and give a card. When I saw this week's PTI MIM with Ashley Cannon Newell, I knew what design I wanted.
Using Ashley's technique, I inked the leaves on a Rustic Wreath die cut in multiple Autumn colors. For the larger leaf, I stamped it first with a leaf stamp from The Sweet Life and then inked the other colors.
I added the sentiment and adhered it all to an impressed Linen/Canvas base.

"The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms."
Deuteronomy 33:27

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, thank you so much for the encouraging comments!

Another PTI Make It Monday #139 Stamped Square Frames

Just popping in to share another stamped frame. These things could be addictive.
I used the branches found in this stamp set. https://www.papertreyink.com/stamps/love-lives-here-holiday-stamp-set/
And followed the technique that Dawn showed us here:
The branches made a kind of circular square wreath. I was really happy about that!
I stamped and die cut some hearts. Gave it a stitch, glitter, and added a sentiment. Finished with some polka dots and red.
All done!

Thanks for stopping by and all your sweet comments!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #139: Stamped Square Frames

This week's PTI MIM is super fun! Plus I love to see Dawn McVey create :-) The tutorial is about taking your border stamps (or even edges of stamps) to make a decorative frame. There are so many possibilities to this. Just like doing puzzles. I'm hoping to have more time to experiment with other stamps but here's what I came up with for now.
My favorite colors for Christmas are kraft, red and white. To me it is so cozy.
to make my frame and then I added a little extra flourish using the small leaf in this stamp set:

Just for fun I took the edge of this stamp and stamped the edges.
I added some glitter, die cuts, sentiment, polka dot paper, and I was done!
To view the challenge for yourself and give it a whirl, go to:

Wishing you a bright and happy day.
I really appreciate all the sweet and encouraging comments. Paper crafters are very kind and creative. I learn so much from each of you!
so...
Thanks for looking!
